Colette Currin

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Q) and a Canadian Certified Addiction Counsellor who works closely with individuals navigating trauma, mental health, or addiction challenges. By combining decades of business experience, clinical training, and personal recovery, I’ve been fortunate to apply my strengths in deeply meaningful ways.

It takes courage to believe in the possibility of change, and it takes commitment to build a meaningful life around values that matter. Navigating the difficult road of recovery isn’t a solo journey, it’s a shared mission. In South Africa, we refer to this binding principle of common humanity as uBuntu: "I am because we are".

I earned my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and am licensed by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I received my Addiction Careworker Diploma from McMaster University and am registered with the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF).

My therapeutic approach is primarily strength based and solution focused, drawing strongly from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) tools and skills, Mindfulness practice and Self-Compassion.

In addition to being an Associate here, I'm also employed by Edgewood Health Network (EHN) Canada as the Vice President of EHN Guardians, caring for military members, veterans, and first responders. This has provided me with the insight and cultural competence to appreciate and deal with the unique operational stress injuries of these professions.

Outside of the office, you’ll find me running for my mental health, hiking the Bruce Trail, travelling to some place new, or trying to find time to write a book. I am also an avid enthusiast of spirituality in all its forms and a lifelong learner of ways to advance self-care beyond coffee, chocolate and copious amounts of cheese.
