Dr. Krystle Martin

Clinic Director and Psychologist

I’m a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist who works closely with individuals navigating trauma, emotional overwhelm, or suicidal thoughts—often in high-stakes, high-stress roles. Many of the people I support are first responders: police officers, firefighters, paramedics, correctional staff, and dispatchers. They carry a lot, and my work is about helping them carry less.

I’m also trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT I) and have a deep interest in helping people sleep better—because rest is essential to healing.

I earned my PhD from the University of Toronto and am licensed by the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. I’m a member of the Ontario Psychological Association and currently serve as an Adjunct Professor at both Ontario Tech University and York University, where I teach and supervise graduate students.

Beyond clinical work, I consult with organizations like Durham Regional Police Service, Scugog Fire, and the Greater Toronto Airport Authority to strengthen their mental wellness programs, provide training and education, and manage their response to critical incidents. I also provide clinical consultation for EHN Guardians Gateway, supporting therapists who deliver inpatient trauma care designed exclusively for first responders and active/retired military members.

Outside of the office, you’ll find me in the yoga studio, lost in a good book, or planning my next travel adventure. I’m powered by chocolate, coffee, and podcasts. I also have a thing for crossword puzzles, peanut butter, and dancing—ideally not all at once
