Emma Vester
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
As a therapist, my priority is to create a space where you feel truly seen, understood, and supported. Much of my work is with people navigating trauma and emotional overwhelm, often while managing the demands of high-stress roles. I have the privilege of working alongside first responders, including police officers, firefighters, paramedics, correctional staff, and dispatchers. They carry an incredible weight in both their work and personal lives, and my role is to walk with them in finding ways to carry less.
In our sessions, we’ll work together to find ways to manage stress, calm the nervous system, process difficult experiences, and move through feelings of shame or self-criticism. I draw from approaches like CBT, DBT, and CPT, but always adapt them to your unique goals and needs. My hope is that therapy gives you a place to breathe, recover, and reconnect with yourself.
Beyond my work with individuals, I’m passionate about strengthening mental health support at a community and organizational level. I work with organizations to support wellness programs, provide education, and guide critical incident responses. I’m also part of the team at EHN Guardians Gateway, where I deliver inpatient trauma care designed specifically for first responders and active or retired military members. In addition, I contribute to meaningful and innovative research exploring sleep difficulties, mechanisms of change in treatment, and the impact of vicarious trauma on those who support public safety personnel.
Outside of work, I'm a big foodie, enjoy time with friends and family, and love long walks especially with a good cup of coffee. In the summer, you’ll usually find me near the water, soaking up the sunshine.
