REGISTERED PSYCHOTHERAPIST (QUALIFYING)

I attended Yorkville University’s Counselling Psychology program. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO) working under the supervision of Dr. Krystle Martin. I have experience supporting clients with a wide variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, quality of life, insomnia, etc. I like to use a collaborative, strength-based, trauma-informed approach wherein we establish goals you wish to work towards during our time together. I typically draw from Cognitive Behavioural, Dialectical, Acceptance and Commitment, and Cognitive Process therapeutic approaches to enhance sessions and aid in your individual journey.

The idea of therapy can be rather intimidating and overwhelming, but with the right support and person(s) on your team, you can begin to heal and make meaningful changes to your life. I think it’s important to have open dialogue wherein you can freely explore and be curious about your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. As your therapist, I strive to make sure that you feel heard, understood, and validated throughout our time together. Therapy is different for everyone and taking an individualized approach means that we can work together to find strategies and ways to process thoughts and emotions that are tailored specifically to you. The therapeutic relationship is the foundation that everything else we will do is built on, so it’s important to me that you feel safe to express yourself open and honestly.

I believe it’s important to find balance within our lives to ensure that we can be our best selves. On a personal level, I enjoy yoga, reading, listening to music or a podcast, and spending time with loved ones. Truthfully, I get the most joy from animals and find that being outside with nature to be most therapeutic.
